Chapter 97 - A Life Worse Than Death (b)

An instant after Elliot said those words, Linda shouted at him, "Don't kill me!"

Elliot shook his head, then said, "That's not how a person beg."

"Please, please, don't kill me! I beg of you, spare my life." Linda desperately begged him to spare her life.

Hearing her pleas, Elliot grinned from ear to ear. "I would have spared your pathetic life only if you never aimed for my life. Now, however, you gotta say goodbye to this wonderful world and die."

Out of Linda's eyes, tears streamed out, flowing down her cheeks and to each corner of her chin like a waterfall.

"I hope you won't be an ignorant person who picks a fight with a being that can determine their life and death in your next life if there is any life for a person like you," Elliot said before swinging the ball of obliteration at Linda.

The eyes of most of the onlookers widened, and they stood up from their seats, finding it hard to believe that he seriously did that! Wasn't it all supposed to be a joke that would end once Linda realizes her mistakes, beg for his mercy, and broke down in tears? Then, why did he do that? Did he not know who was Linda? She was an arrogant piece of shit at the peak of the channel opening stage. She reached that level by depending on the resources of her family, meaning she was not anyone special. But can one say the same for her family? No! Her family was the third strongest family in the magician community. Her father was in the king stage, and the head of the family was a Magic Emperor! Killing her meant angering them! Did this crazy brat not even thought about that? Or does he thinks he can survive against the third strongest magician family?

Of course, Elliot had thought about all of that. Yet, he still dared to throw the ball of obliteration at her. It was all because of his own sadistic reasons.

Linda's eyes widened in horror as she saw the ball of obliteration spinning across the air and coming straight towards her.

Did she want her life to end here, and that too at the hands of a magician in the magical realm?

No!

A big fat No!

"Hurley, I command you to block it for me!" She shouted out loud.

Hurley's face showed a horrified expression as his body immediately moved against his will, almost as if Linda's command was irrefutable.

The onlookers saw that magician that Linda's family sent to protect her, pressed against the suppression, and jumped in between Linda and the ball of obliteration.

Although most of his bones cracked die to opposing the suppressing upon him, Hurley still managed to take the ball off obliteration for Linda.

The ball of obliteration slammed onto Hurley's gut then bounced back.

The ball of obliteration slammed onto Hurley's gut then bounced back. There was no shining bright light. Neither was there any sort of pressure coming out of the ball of obliteration. If any look closely at it, they will see golden threads coiled around it, and these threads sealed all the properties of the ball of obliteration. Currently, it was merely a ball that even a kid can play with.

Currently, it was merely a ball that even a kid can play with and come out unscratched.

"Nothing happened?" The horrified Hurley touched his body, here and there, confirming that he is alive. However, some bones have indeed shattered when he forcefully pressed against the mysterious pressure Elliot used on him.

"What?!" Linda and onlookers were equally surprised, unable to understand why the ball of obliteration simply back off instead of giving Hurley the most painful death.

"Pufahahahaha!" Elliot laughed at the top of his lungs, so much that his sides started to ache. "I have been playing with you since the very start, you dumb bitch! There was no ball of obliteration, not was I going to kill any one of you. Do you ants seriously think I am going to ruin my status as a perfect magician law-abiding citizen by killing you under daylight and in front of hundreds of people? You ants think of highly of yourself."

"What(Nani)?!!!!!" Linda, the participants, the instructors, Lisa, and even Headmaster Gerald felt as if they had been played like fools by him.

"From the very beginning, I wanted to show everyone here how far you are willing to go to keep your pathetic life. I didn't think you would be cruel enough to mind control the only friend that spoke up for you and send him towards death! Everyone has seen your reality! There's no way you can hide the fact that you're cruel and will sacrifice the lives of your friend to survive!" After saying those words to Linda, Elliot looked towards the onlookers and said in a booming voice, "I hope that you guys won't associate with her if you want to live long. Someone like her deserves to be isolated, don't you all think so?"

"Ridiculous! Do you think anyone is going to support your childish claim!" Linda said while looking at Elliot.

Elliot didn't even bother looking at her.

"Yes, Elliot is indeed right! Someone like you deserve to be isolated!"

Lisa said, and as if her words were the beginning of the war, everyone started pointing their weapons at Linda.

"She is indeed too vicious and a backstabbing bitch!"

"She don't deserve to be here!"

"Let's outcast her!"

"Let's outcast her!"

"Let's outcast her!"

"We don't want to study in the same academy as her! Expel her!"

Elliot had managed to sway the opinion of the crowd by putting up a masterful act! He was a psychopath for sure, but the crowd wasn't intelligent enough to understand that, and they merely followed what their heart desired the most, isolate and taunt Linda.

Linda's body ached from the overwhelming majority of people that were trying to cancel her, and she looked towards her friends but they turned their back towards her. She looked towards Hurley, but he closed his eyes in disappointment and moved his head away from her.

"It wasn't my fault! He was the one threatening to kill me! I wouldn't have acted like that if it wasn't for him! Why isn't anyone listening to me?! Why are you guys going against me?! Why?!!" She shrieked like a banshee, but the voice of the majority overwhelmed her voice, and her words fell on nobody's ears.

Linda's heart fell. She was hopeless at the scene before her. No one was by her side. She was all alone, all alone!
